MxGuard Business is a cloud-delivered, hybrid-AI email security gateway that stops spam, phishing, malware and business-email-compromise before they ever reach your inbox. Point your domain's MX record at MxGuard and every inbound message is scored, sorted and forwarded on to your real mail server — with a single web console to manage everything. £16.99 per domain per month, with 25 mailboxes included. How it works: MxGuard sits in front of your existing mail server. A gradient-boosted machine-learning classifier scores the easy 95% of mail in milliseconds. The borderline messages — the ones that matter most — are handed to Claude, Anthropic's large language model, which reads them the way a person would before a verdict is reached. Every verdict comes with a plain-English reason, so you can always see exactly why a message was tagged, quarantined or rejected. Why old filters fail and MxGuard doesn't: Rule-based and Bayesian filters were built for an era of obvious spam. They miss the carefully written, well-targeted attacks: CEO impersonation, invoice redirection, gift-card fraud, lookalike domains and AI-written phishing with perfect grammar. These payload-free attacks sail past legacy filters — and they are exactly where MxGuard's LLM layer is strongest. What MxGuard stops: - Phishing — credential-harvest pages, fake login flows and OAuth-consent traps. - BEC and impersonation — CEO fraud, invoice redirection, supplier impersonation, gift-card scams. - Malware and ransomware — ClamAV scans every attachment, including archives; macro-bearing Office docs and HTML smuggling scored heavily. - Bulk spam and UCE — classic spam, snowshoe and hailstorm campaigns, with near-zero false positives on legitimate bulk mail. - Lookalike domains — homoglyph attacks, doubled letters and ccTLD swaps, checked at envelope, From header and reply-to. - Backscatter and spoofing — SPF/DKIM/DMARC enforcement plus ARC sealing through forwarding. Included on every domain: - ML-based threat scoring with sub-5ms decisions. - Claude LLM evaluation on uncertain mail, with transparent written verdicts. - Real-time live feed dashboard showing mail as it's processed. - Daily digest emails with one-click release and block actions. - Allow / block rules with hit tracking. - URIBL, Spamhaus and URLhaus threat feeds. - ClamAV attachment scanning. - ARC sealing for forwarded mail. - Self-service domain management — no support tickets needed. - 30-day quarantine retention. - 25 mailboxes included (add packs of 25 for more). - Active-active high availability across two UK gateways (mx1 + mx2). No hardware, no installs, no capital cost: MxGuard runs in our UK-based cloud. There's nothing to deploy on your premises, no agents to install and no firewall rules to add. Most customers are live within a working day. Subscription pricing means no up-front investment and no surprise upgrade costs. UK-hosted and GDPR-aligned: Your mail data is processed and stored in the UK. Month-to-month billing with no minimum contract, no setup fees and no annual lock-in. 10% off on annual prepay. Migrating from eFa? eFa reaches end-of-life in July 2026. MxGuard is a direct replacement that runs in the same MX-fronting role with modern detection. We import your existing allow/block lists and provide guided cutover assistance free of charge — most migrations complete inside two days.
The Owned Engine is a one-time purchase of the Transcom dropcatch software outright — your own licensed copy of the engine to install and run on your own Linux server, catching dropping domains from any registrar that uses the EPP / DAC XML process. £665 one-time. What the software does: The engine catches dropping domain names from registrars using the EPP / DAC XML process — around 80 countries operate one. The configuration file comes pre-configured with Nominet parameters, making it ready to use straight away for any Nominet registrar. Once you own it, there are no monthly fees — you run it on your own infrastructure under your own TAG. Modern time-release engine: The current software is a complete rewrite for Nominet's time-release drop process (introduced September 2022), while remaining compatible with the older DAC/EPP method. Key features: - Multiple non-blocking EPP sockets — all scripts run multi-socket and non-blocking. - A proprietary algorithm that streams EPP writes in blocks for tighter timing. - Seven chronological result points to help you judge the best moment to send EPP creates. - Latency computation displayed on the login screen. - Post-check registration — register a name if the catch timing missed the slot but the domain became available. How you run it: - Requires PHP 7.4.x with the server set to UTC/Zulu time (all drop times are in Zulu). - run.php — single domain, non-blocking mode. - robin.php — round-robin mode, multiple domains read from a flatfile list, fully automated. - Several additional utilities are provided, plus nightly Nominet droplist downloads. Own it outright: Install via SSH on your own Linux server using your EPP password, Account ID and licence key. Existing SSH-software owners can upgrade to the new engine. A one-time purchase with no recurring fees — settle caught domains with Nominet directly at your own registrar rate. Leased options are also available if you'd prefer not to buy.
