Description

Veritus is a UK-hosted signup-fraud-scoring API and drop-in widget that verifies who's signing up before they ever reach your database. It checks email, phone, address, IP and behaviour in real time, then returns a score, a verdict and a reason — in under 100 milliseconds. From £29/month (Starter); free tier with 1,000 checks/month available forever.

The problem it solves

CAPTCHAs slow down real users and barely inconvenience modern fraud rings. Veritus replaces guesswork with a transparent, machine-learning-scored answer for every signup — cloud-delivered, drop-in and self-improving. Every signup is checked against dozens of identity and risk signals and returns a single allow, review or block verdict you can act on instantly, with a clear explanation behind every score.

Identity checks

  • Email validity, age and disposable-domain detection
  • Phone validity and line-type lookup (mobile, VoIP, landline)
  • Address validity for the UK and 30+ countries
  • Name and date-of-birth consistency checks
  • Carrier and email-provider reputation

Risk signals

  • IP reputation — VPN, proxy, Tor and datacentre detection
  • Password breach check against billions of leaked credentials
  • Device and browser fingerprinting
  • Velocity and repeat-signup detection
  • Behavioural anomaly scoring

How it scores

A LightGBM classifier weighs every signal and returns a score from 0 to 100 with a clear allow, review or block verdict. Every verdict is transparent — it comes with a list of human-readable reason codes (for example: Tor exit, VoIP phone, young email, breached password, geo mismatch). No black box, so you can defend any decision to a customer, an auditor or a compliance officer.

Two ways to integrate

  • Drop-in widget — paste one script tag in your page head and tag your signup form. On submit, Veritus scores the user in under 100ms and either lets the form through, queues it for review, or blocks it with a friendly message. Ideal for WordPress, low-code SaaS or any HTML form.
  • REST API — a single POST /v1/score call returns the score, verdict and reasons as clean JSON. No SDK, no heavy integration.

Self-learning

Mark a verdict right or wrong and the model adapts to your specific signup patterns. Your allows and blocks feed the next nightly training cycle automatically, so scoring gets sharper for your traffic over time.

Allow / block rules

Define rules at four scope tiers — form, domain, customer or global — with full hit tracking. Block disposable-email domains, proxy IP ranges or specific phone prefixes, or allow trusted partners outright.

Built for reliability

Active-active high availability across UK and EU scoring nodes, with PostgreSQL streaming replication and Redis replication over mutual TLS. If either node fails, scoring keeps flowing. 99.9% API uptime target, sub-100ms end-to-end scoring.

Pricing tiers

  • Free — £0/mo, 1,000 checks/month forever, widget + API, all 7 enrichment signals, 1 domain.
  • Starter — £29/mo, 10,000 checks, customer-specific model, webhooks, 5 domains, review queue, email support.
  • Business — £99/mo, 50,000 checks, unlimited domains, 1-year history, multi-user dashboard, phone support.
  • Scale — £299/mo, 250,000 checks, reseller sub-accounts, white-label widget, 99.9% SLA, dedicated account manager.

No per-seat pricing, no minimum contract, no throttling — overage is billed at month-end. Charities and open-source projects get Business at 50% off.
