Free Access - Pay Per Catch

Transcom Dropcatch is a professional online dropcatching platform for expiring .uk, .co.uk, .org.uk and .me.uk domains registered with Nominet. The Free Access plan lets anyone submit and monitor catches with no upfront fees and no submission limits — you pay only when a domain is successfully caught. Built and operated from Brighton since 1993.

Pay only on a catch

There are no submission fees, no listing fees, no minimum quantities and no contract. You submit the domains you want, the system monitors them live, and you're only charged if and when a catch succeeds. Pricing is per successful catch by mode:

• Fast — £10 + VAT — quick catches across the standard drop.
• Multi — £25 + VAT — unlimited submissions, any quantity, for any domain except high-value premium names.
• Single — £50 + VAT — full dedicated resources for premium and hard-to-catch names such as short/3-character domains.

How it works

• Simple two-line registration — your username can be anything, but for consistency use your Nominet IPS TAG or Acorn account if you have one.
• You don't need to be a Nominet TAG holder to use the service.
• Submission is fully automatic — the system inserts the expiry and drop dates and allocates resources, filtering out any domains not in the expired window.
• Status updates are live — when a domain is caught, a FastPay link appears next to the result with payment options.
• Every result shows which system cluster made the catch (CAUGHT-XX), so you can see the engine behind each win.

Precision catching technology

The platform uses real-time Nominet drop monitoring, pre-warmed sockets and NTP-synced precision firing over the EPP/DAC process, run from fast, low-RTT infrastructure close to the Nominet backend. This is the same proven engine that powers Transcom's leased and owned dropcatch products.

Caught a domain — then what

• Caught domains appear in your records and in the public Just Caught list (unless you prefer to keep them private).
• List caught domains for sale on the integrated auction site with no listing fees.
• Leave the domain on Transcom's TAG with renewal at current rates, or transfer it out to your own TAG.
• Optional RDHE add-on (£10 + VAT per year) provides Registration, Hosting and Email for new domains — instant DNS, a holding page and catch-all email with webmail, IMAP and SMTP, or forwarding to an existing address.

Integrated live auctions

The service includes its own live auction facility — submit and bid on domains of any TLD, with no listing fees and no limit on submissions. Sell your caught domains or pick up others' directly through the platform.

For heavier or self-run catching

If you run your own dropcatch setup or own Transcom's software, dedicated multi-core server resources can be allocated for premium, hard-to-catch names. Leased and owned engine options are also available for those who want to catch under their own TAG and settle with Nominet directly at preferential rates.
