Owned Engine - One Time

The Owned Engine is a one-time purchase of the Transcom dropcatch software outright — your own licensed copy of the engine to install and run on your own Linux server, catching dropping domains from any registrar that uses the EPP / DAC XML process. £665 one-time.

What the software does

The engine catches dropping domain names from registrars using the EPP / DAC XML process — around 80 countries operate one. The configuration file comes pre-configured with Nominet parameters, making it ready to use straight away for any Nominet registrar. Once you own it, there are no monthly fees — you run it on your own infrastructure under your own TAG.

Modern time-release engine

The current software is a complete rewrite for Nominet's time-release drop process (introduced September 2022), while remaining compatible with the older DAC/EPP method. Key features:

• Multiple non-blocking EPP sockets — all scripts run multi-socket and non-blocking.
• A proprietary algorithm that streams EPP writes in blocks for tighter timing.
• Seven chronological result points to help you judge the best moment to send EPP creates.
• Latency computation displayed on the login screen.
• Post-check registration — register a name if the catch timing missed the slot but the domain became available.

How you run it

• Requires PHP 7.4.x with the server set to UTC/Zulu time (all drop times are in Zulu).
• run.php — single domain, non-blocking mode.
• robin.php — round-robin mode, multiple domains read from a flatfile list, fully automated.
• Several additional utilities are provided, plus nightly Nominet droplist downloads.

Own it outright

Install via SSH on your own Linux server using your EPP password, Account ID and licence key. Existing SSH-software owners can upgrade to the new engine. A one-time purchase with no recurring fees — settle caught domains with Nominet directly at your own registrar rate. Leased options are also available if you'd prefer not to buy.
